How I Became A Food Blogger

I am Jennifer. I am a biotechnologist. A photographer. A traveller. An artist. But above all, a food lover. Food moves me. Inspires me. It brings together all the things I love on a single plate. I grew up helping my mother and grandmother churn out delicacies during festivals and special occasions. I was never into cooking at that time and would land up messing the kitchen, burning the dishes and occasionally myself :) . Its those char coaled memories that helped me ink my thoughts and start The Burnt Apron. 

 

When I moved to Qatar after my marriage, I discovered a whole new world of ingredients that I could play around with, which made cooking a regular and fun affair. I explored tastes and textures. I experimented with new spices and mixes. My family relished every dish that I put together, which kept me going strong.

Over the years, I have collected recipes from diverse sources ranging from family members, vegetable vendors to close friends to tv shows.  The Burnt Apron helps me remember these precious recipes. To share my love for food, connect with like-minded people, and keep learning. As a celebration of my journey so far; of all things sweet and savoury, and everything in-between.
